What makes Spider-Man a stand out from his contemporaries? (and things common).

Spider-Man - into the spider-life
                                           -By jash

Right from our childhood when the frat asks about who's your favorite superhero my and many others like me had only a few names on mind and one of them is this friendly neighborhood Spider-Man. But have you ever questioned yourself why do you like Spider-Man? If yes, that's cool because everyone has a favorite superhero and there are several reasons why they like them so. Mine is queens' webslinger and these are the reasons I think that makes him a stand alone from other super heros.

 A witty quip.
Spider-Man is a many things a caring nephew, a one side lover, a good friend not to mention that he's a nerd but what is he to his villains? A foe maybe. Every comic fan and even movie fan knows what's Spidey like when he fights he hits, blocks, gets hit, falls down, shakes it off but what he does during that time is what makes us like him. Spider-Man might be brave enough to go toe to toe with the dreaded venom and ginormous sandman but what's it for Peter Parker? He's just a teenager tries to calm himself by dissing his villian during his fights. It can be called as the slice of life of a hero and that's what a teenager does. He roasts and disses his villains which could make them lose their nerve to do sloppy things. I don't think any hero would say 'jigs up pal?' to a who-knows-what a superpower, super villian. Just the way he's being so agile and able to sucker punch his foes. I think another famous superhero shares the same with him but that's a story for another blog.

Intelligent lad (know how many beans make five)
There's a research which suggests people who love super hero fantasies are trying to turn a blind eye to the real world at least for the time that they indulge in it. Peter inspires people by being a nerd. A simple guy who gets excited just seeing a telescope, an old research paper, his school physics books. He was this smart even before the bite. He uses it in his academics as well as in fighting crimes he researches the sample of venom in the spectacular Spider-Man series and even came up with an antidote to it. He is just a sharp learner even in his fights and improvises in the spur of the moment. Even dr. Hank Pym in the comics credited Peter that he's even smarter than himself and he should spend his time in lab rather than fighting criminals.

Struggles as everybody
Before the bite Peter Parker was used to get bullied in his school. He was not that great at sports and one can call him a stereotypical 'nerd'. He struggled with confessing his love to his girl. His friend Harry have always had to be around to looking out for him. He had heard words like di*ckwad, penis-parker, and etc... He was not doing that great before the bite. Then "Boom" nothing changed except he was more muscular, got to pummel super villians, and avert bullying. He still struggled with double the responsibility since with great.. *don't you dare finish that sentence, don't do it, I'm sick of it!

*Shrugs* back to the topic, he was still struggling to balance between Peter Parker and Spider-Man. There's an old saying which goes like 'once you're under a mask for a long time, you'll be no longer sure if it's you or the the masked guy'. Which means even if you have super powers you won't make it out every single time. You have to take the rough turn even if you're Spider-Man. You fight a supervillain while aunt may calls you to buy groceries on the way home and you pretend to be doing fine. You have to do the chores even if you have a train to catch from falling or a ship to stick before it falls apart or ironman arrives. *coughs in laughter*

Getting back to his feet no matter the repercussion
Spider-Man always finds a way to get back up no matter how hard he falls. Because lives are at stake and you can save them only if you stand up. Theres no back up and what back up do a teenager know if he's the only one guarding the neighborhood? Be it Peter Parker or miles Morales or any other version of Spidey this thing stays common. Being Spider-Man he is agile, powerful he's like the great red spot on Jupiter he should always be hustling regardless of his situations. Nobody knows when a villian is born and you should always be ready to put yourself in front of others. The might in his chest is just what makes him amazing nonetheless of his age.

Worthy of lifting mjölnir
The kid's heart is the same as captain Americas. When the world knocked him down numerous times and tells him to move even his friends and foes he realised it was his duty to plant himself like a tree and looked in his villains eyes and say no, you move. But then there's still a catch the vonly thing that pulls him from lifting the norse god's mighty weapon is his inability to kill. He can be in the way of punches and kicks but will the kid ever bear the burden of another death?  Even for him him killing is too far but I'm sure in the far future he would lift the hammer. According to the legend a man is regarded as mighty and worthy if only he has the ability to kill. So as of now Spideys just not worthy.

Inevitable deaths of his beloved
Even if you're a the masked vigilante still your powers has limits right? You just can't save everyone. This was what first drove Peter to stand against the evil. If it wasn't for the tragic event of his uncle Ben's death there would've been no Spider-Man by now though he acted out seeking revenge he then realised thats just not what he's meant for. Be it Mary Jane, Gwen Stacy or even aunt may sure Peter may go vexed but not Spider-Man because he knows what would happen if he's not around. Yeah there are even times when he wasn't able to do the gig but the city's evil has to be kept in check which demanded a Spider-Man. A man born of sacrifices knows better than anyone the value of what life is.

If you've did it this far, thanks for reading this and this proves you as a geek.
